Weight Management
Weight management for children and adolescents is crucial for their overall health and well being. Underlying health conditions or malnutrition such as, inadequate calorie intake, delayed growth & development, weakened immune system, chronic illness, metabolic issues, stress, anxiety or depression to name just a few, can contribute to being underweight.

Modified Carbohydrate
Eating too many simple carbohydrates and or eliminating other food groups as a result, may cause health problems such as high triglycerides, elevated blood sugar, HbA1c levels, obesity, or PCOS. However, complex carbohydrates rich in nutrients and fiber are necessary for proper growth and development, energy, hormone balance, normal bowel function, blood sugar & Lipid regulation as well as mental acuity. The types and amounts of carbohydrates growing children and adolescents consume is vitally important to their overall health and nutritional balance.

If your child/adolescent has been diagnosed with elevated blood pressure, elevated cholesterol levels or has a strong family history of cardiac disease, modifying and or eliminating certain excess dietary components such as salt/sodium
cholesterol and other types of fats in the daily diet may be therapeutically helpful. When overall heart health is a concern, our dietitians understand the importance and complexities of developing a kid-friendly heart heatlhy meal plan that is beneficial for children or adolescents with heart conditions or those at risk for heart disease

Although diet alone is not a cause of ADD/ADHD it can impact symptoms. Providing a nutrient dense, vitamin and mineral rich meal plan for your child or adolescent, while pinpointing, identifying and eliminating food sensitivities can help manage troublesome behaviors and uncomfortable symptoms. Additional vitamin and or mineral supplementation may be warranted along with providing balanced, nutritious meals and snacks, while eliminating and or replacing empty calorie foods in your
child or adolescent's daily diet.

Autism Spectrum Disorder
Nutrition plays a critical role in children/adolescents with Autism spectrum disorders. While there is not a one-diet-approach fits all here, we understand the behavorial and nutritional needs and complexities of evaluating, assessing and developing a meal plan that includes whole nutrient-dense foods, pre & probiotic foods,
B-vitamins, Omega-3 fatty acids, and or

Limited Lactose
Lactose intolerance is a condition that occurs when a child or adolescent does not produce enough lactase enzyme to break down lactose in food. Tolerance and symptoms of abdominal pain, cramping, nausea, bloating, gas or diarrhea can vary. When milk products are eliminated from the diet because of Lactose intolerance, an important source of calcium & other vitamins and minerals are also eliminated. We understand that it is paramount to accurately recognize & nutritionally manage a lactose intolerance so that other macro and micro nutrients are not compromised in your child or adolescent's daily specialized meal plan for proper growth, development.

Fiber is essential to a child/adolescent's total health. Plant foods that contain fiber contribute to the biological balance of nutrients in the small intestine, colon and blood. Fiber removes toxins, lowers cholesterol and slows the absorption of
sugar preventing rapid rises in blood sugar. Research studies show that most children do not consume enough fiber daily. we understand that providing natural well-balanced nutrition, adequate calories, fluid for hydration, macro & micro nutrients needed for continued growth & development, while incorporating a safe amount of dietary fiber to promote normal laxation.

Plant-Based Mediterranean
Eating a plant-based diet doesnt necessarily mean eliminating all meat or dairy products. Here we emphasize
plant-based sources such as, Vegetables, Fruits, Legumes, Beans, Nuts, Tofu, Healthy Fats & Whole Grains while encouraging limiting or reducing the number of animal protein meals served in a week. Although not always desired, nutrition science research does show us that including some lean animal protein sources can help ensure that children/adolescents are getting enough of the neccessary macro & micro nutrients needed for continued healthy growth and development.
